Telehealth Physiotherapy

What Is telehealth physiotherapy?

Telehealth physiotherapy is a new way of delivering physiotherapy services to patients. It offers a convenient, cost-effective and time-efficient alternative to traditional in-person visits.

Physiotherapists can use it to treat patients remotely, or they can work together with other healthcare professionals to provide care when needed.

The benefits of telehealth physiotherapy are:

  • Patients experience shorter wait times for treatment
  • The process is more cost-effective
  • Using telehealth physiotherapy allows therapists to reach more people in rural areas that may not have access otherwise
  • It has the potential to reduce the number of missed appointments
  • Patients feel more satisfied with their care because they are in control of how and when they get their therapy
  • Therapy sessions can be more flexible.

Treatments provided via telehealth physiotherapy:

Tele-rehabilitation has many of the same benefits as a face-to-face physiotherapy session. You will be working directly with your physiotherapist, who will help you to

  • Assess and diagnose your problem/ condition
  • Strategies to manage your pain/condition with active exercises program
  • Strategies or functional activities progression that will help your pain/symptoms
  • Provide education and self-management, and self-mobilization techniques
  • Develop a home exercise program
  • monitor your progress

You will continue to receive the same exceptional one-to-one care physio sessions.

Conditions that may benefit from Virtual Care Physiotherapy:

  • Muscle strains and sprains
  • Back/neck/shoulder/elbow/knee pain
  • Tendonitis
